Storage and MySQL

By default, NPC data is persisted locally in npcs.yml. The database block in config.yml can enable MySQL using database.jdbc-url, username, password, maximum-pool-size and connection-timeout-millis. database.server-id identifies the server's records in shared database setups.

database.fallback-to-yaml defaults to true. When MySQL is enabled but unavailable, this keeps the plugin operational using local YAML rather than preventing NPC loading. This improves availability but can create different data histories between database and fallback storage; restore database connectivity and check synchronization behavior before editing the same NPCs from multiple servers.
